There are lots of apps and software that help you take a screenshot or screen capture on a Mac but there is an easy built in way.
Using that very keyboard in front of you I’ll show you how to take a screenshot on your awesome Macintosh.
Ready?
Hold down the COMMAND, SHIFT and “3″ key at the same time. This will select everything on your entire screen.
or
You can hold down the COMMAND, SHIFT and “4″ key at the same time. This will create a cursor which will allow you to click and drag a selected area on your screen.
You’ll know you’ve down it correctly when you hear that camera snap sound effect. Make sure you have your volume turned up.
Both have their purposes. I find I use the COMMAND, SHIFT and “4″ key way more often in order to select the exact area I want and don’t have to open Photoshop or Skitch to crop the image.
